Plumbing cover, built your way

When things get clogged and start leaking, let us come to the rescue. Pick only the cover you want and we'll come and fix it for you. A 12-month agreement period applies once you use a service, and a £95 call-out fee can apply (see details below).

What is plumbing cover?

Plumbing cover from Smart Plan is a simple way to protect the pipework that keeps your home running. When a pipe springs a leak or a joint gives way, you don't have to find a plumber and worry about the bill. We'll come and fix it for you, with parts and labour included up to your cover limit.

Smart Plan is a service plan, not insurance. You build your own cover and pick only the areas of your home you want to protect, so you don't pay for what you don't use. Add plumbing on its own, or bring it together with drainage, boiler and the rest of your home.

Home plumbing cover that's made for you

We don't believe in one-size-fits-all. Whether you want internal plumbing cover on its own or a fuller plan, you choose what goes in. It's monthly rolling cover, and once you use a service a 12-month minimum agreement period begins (see the FAQs below for the small print).

What's included with your plumbing cover

Your plumbing cover handles the everyday faults that go wrong with the pipes inside your home. Parts and labour are included up to a cover limit of £500 across your 12-month period. Typical jobs covered include:

What your plumbing cover can help with:

  • Repairs to leaking pipes and joints inside your home
  • Leaking overflow pipes and leaking hot and cold supply pipes
  • The hot and cold inlet flexible pipes on your washing machine or dishwasher
  • Unblocking a waste pipe or rainwater drain
  • Repairing or replacing an external soil vent pipe
  • A non-flushing toilet, where it's the only toilet in your home

Leak cover and how repairs work

A leak is one of the most common reasons people call us. Leaks are resolved using compression fittings, push-fit fittings, couplings and other methods for short-term leak prevention, so the issue is dealt with quickly. It isn't a full re-pipe of your home, but it stops the leak and gets things working again.

If you think you have a water leak, turn off your stop tap to limit any damage and request a repair. We'll arrange for a vetted engineer from our national network to come and sort it out for you.

There's a full list in our terms and conditions, and a 30-day exclusion period applies at the start of a new plan.

Is there a call-out fee?

A £95 call-out fee applies, paid in advance, in certain situations: for any call-out requested in the first 30 days of a new plan, where the issue falls under an exclusion, or where our engineer can't get access to your property.

Is this plumbing insurance?

No. Smart Plan is a service plan, not insurance. The agreement is not a contract of insurance, a guarantee or an insurance policy. You're requesting a repair from us, with no repair paperwork to fill in.
