What is a combi boiler?
A combi boiler is designed to combine a water heater and a central heating boiler into one highly efficient unit. Combination boilers take the water directly from the mains to provide hot water and heat on demand. The system has control valves that open or close to direct hot water to the radiators or, when the tap opens, deliver instant hot water to the tap.
Unlike traditional boilers, combination boilers do not require a separate tank or cylinder to store water, which makes them a popular option for houses with limited space.

How energy efficient are the Vaillant combi boilers?
All Vaillant combi boilers have an efficiency rating of 89%, which puts them into the top efficiency category, ‘A’. Efficiency levels assess how much of the fuel, so in this case, gas, is turned into heat and how much is wasted during the process. 89% efficiency means that 11% of used energy leaves the system as gases emitted via the flue pipe. This makes Vaillant combi boilers much more efficient than most traditional boilers, which have efficiencies of 60% and lower.

Ecotec Plus Combination Store 938
This Vaillant model is a combination storage boiler, which means there is a hot water cylinder built into the back of the boiler. Whilst a standard combi boiler draws water directly from the mains supply and heats water on demand, a storage combi not only does this but also stores a supply of hot water in the cylinder.
This feature allows the Vaillant Ecotec Plus Store to deliver exceptional hot water flow rates (up to 20 litres per minute) to meet the needs of larger homes with several bathrooms. A storage combi boiler can deliver hot water as and when you need it, through multiple outlets at the same time.
