Appliance repair, booked in one call

Washing machine flooding the kitchen? Fridge gone warm? Call us and we'll arrange a one-off engineer visit to repair your appliance.

Book a one-off appliance repair

When a machine packs in, you want appliance repair sorted fast, not a sales pitch. Call us on 0333 772 6247 and we'll book a one-off engineer visit for your washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven or other white goods. It's a single paid call-out, so there's nothing to sign up to and no plan to join.

One-off repair visits run Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. A £95.00 call-out fee applies and is paid in advance. That covers the engineer coming to your home and diagnosing the fault. Any parts are quoted separately, and we'll always explain extra labour before more work goes ahead.

Washing machine repair

Washing machines are the appliance we're asked about most. Leaks, drums that won't spin, doors that won't open and error codes are all common faults. Before you call, it's worth checking the obvious: the door is shut, the filter isn't blocked and the machine is switched on at the socket. If that doesn't fix it, phone us and we'll book a washing machine repair visit.

All the makes you'll find in a UK kitchen

Our appliance engineers work across the major makes and models found in most homes. When you call, have the brand and model number to hand. It's usually on a sticker around the door, the drawer, or the back of the unit. That helps us send the right engineer with the right parts.

Boiler or gas appliance? Read this first

Appliance repair covers white goods, not boilers or gas appliances. If you smell gas, or feel unwell and suspect carbon monoxide, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 immediately. For a boiler fault, always use a Gas Safe registered engineer. You can safely check your boiler's thermostat, pressure gauge and reset button by following your boiler manual, but never attempt gas work yourself.

Want ongoing cover instead of a one-off fix?

If your appliances are getting on a bit, a £95 call-out every time something breaks can add up. Our Appliance cover module is a service plan, not insurance. It repairs or replaces a covered appliance up to £225 per appliance in each 12-month period, with parts and labour included up to that limit.

Smart Plan lets you build your own cover and pick only the modules you want, from UK Boiler Company Ltd, trading since 2014. It's monthly rolling cover, though once you've used a service a 12-month agreement period applies. There's a 14-day cooling-off period from when you sign up. It's a separate option from a one-off repair, and entirely up to you.

Appliance repair FAQs

How quickly can you repair my appliance?

Call us on 0333 772 6247 and we'll book the first available engineer slot for you. One-off appliance repair visits run Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. We can't promise a fixed turnaround, so phone us and we'll be straight with you about the next slot we have.

Is there a call-out fee for a one-off repair?

Yes. A £95.00 call-out fee applies and is paid in advance. That covers the engineer coming out and diagnosing the fault. Any parts are quoted separately, and we'll explain extra labour before further work goes ahead, so there are no surprises.

Which appliances do you repair?

We repair the everyday white goods that keep a home running: washing machines, washer-dryers, tumble dryers, dishwashers, fridges, freezers, fridge-freezers, electric ovens, cookers and hobs. Call us with the make and the fault and we'll tell you if we can help.

Do you cover all makes and models?

Our engineers work across the major makes and models you'll find in most UK kitchens. When you call, have the brand and model number ready (it's usually on a sticker around the door, drawer or rear panel) so we can match the right engineer and parts.

Is a one-off repair guaranteed?

One-off appliance repairs don't carry a workmanship guarantee. If you'd like ongoing protection, our Appliance cover module repairs or replaces a covered appliance up to £225 per appliance in a 12-month period, with parts and labour included up to that limit.

What if the problem is my boiler or there's a smell of gas?

Appliance repair doesn't cover gas appliances or boilers. If you smell gas or suspect carbon monoxide, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency line on 0800 111 999 straight away. For a boiler fault, use a Gas Safe registered engineer. See our boiler repair page for help.

Can I check anything safely myself before you come out?

For an appliance, a few safe checks can save a visit: make sure it's switched on at the socket, the door is shut properly, the filter isn't blocked and any child-lock is off. Only follow the steps in your appliance manual. Never attempt electrical or gas repairs yourself.

What's the difference between a one-off repair and an appliance cover plan?

A one-off repair is a single paid call-out when something breaks now. Appliance cover is a service plan you pay for monthly, so a covered appliance is repaired or replaced up to £225 per appliance each 12-month period. It's a service plan, not insurance.
